REMEMBER the Fallen. . . HONOR those who Serve. . . TEACH our children the value of Freedom.
Welcome to the High Lawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home's Wreaths Across America Page.
On Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 12:00 pm the Staff of High Lawn along with members of Boy Scout Troop #1885, #179 and #1776 will be helping Oak Hill and surrounding areas to Remember and Honor our veterans by laying Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes.
Please help us honor and remember as many fallen heroes as possible by sponsoring remembrance wreaths, volunteering on Wreaths Day, or inviting your family and friends to attend with you.
As more veterans from not only World War I and II, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm and other military conflicts join the more than 2,300 veterans buried at High Lawn Memorial Park, the staff feels that each and every one of them should be remembered for their sacrifices not only at Memorial Day and Veterans Day but during the Christmas season as well.
Thank you so much for supporting the High Lawn Memorial Park and Wreaths Across America!

Directions to Cemetery
High Lawn Memorial Park is at 1435 East Main St. in Oak Hill with the main gate right across the street from Calvary Baptist Church. Because Covid restrictions have been lifted we will once again be doing our dedication service in the chapel of the funeral home with the actual placing of the wreaths to follow outside.
If the weather does not cooperate and the event must be canceled rest assured that the wreaths will still be placed by our cemetery staff just as soon as the weather allows.
Parking Instructions
You may park for the ceremony in the parking lot beside the funeral home or on the sides of the driveway around the center grass where the flag pole is located. If it is full you may also park on the sides of Main St. or in the parking lot of Calvary Baptist Church across the street.
When laying the wreaths on your loved ones in the cemetery please bear to the right side of the driveway and park on that side also so that traffic can get by your vehicle. Thank You!
Ceremony and Volunteer Information
We are happy that you are willing to help with our Wreath Across America endeavors at High Lawn Memorial Park. Please do not forget to register to volunteer! That way you will get all updates about the cemetery and ceremony itself.
Here are some things to remember about the ceremony:
- Everyone of all ages and backgrounds is welcome.
- Now that Covid restrictions have been lifted we will once again have our wreath dedication ceremony in the comfort of our warm chapel and then retire to the flag pole in the center of the driveway to place the 8 wreaths representing all the military branches.
- If you have sponsored a specific veteran and can not be there to place their wreath, rest assured that our cemetery staff will see that all wreaths are placed on stands on the appropriate graves.
- Please follow the location coordinators instructions on where to place wreaths, as well as "how" they should be placed. Veterans that have a wreath saved for them by their family will be designated by the wreath stands and these should be filled first, if there are wreaths left over they may be placed on any veteran that has a VA marker.
- Wreath removal will be sometime in January. We take our cue from the folks at Arlington National Cemetery.
The most important thing to remember is to have a wonderful experience participating in the ceremony and thank you so much for help Wreaths achieve our mission to remember, honor and teach.
