Welcome to the Girl Scouts of New/North Brunswick's Wreaths Across America page!
On Saturday, December 14, 2024, our Girl Scout Troops will be helping Elmwood Cemetary to Remember and Honor our veterans by laying remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes.
Elmwood Cemetery has over 660 veteran graves. Help us honor them!
UPDATE: We are still trying to collect about 150 more wreaths (goal adjusted to 375) to cover more of the remaining Veterans graves at the Cemetery. Please think about sponsoring a wreath or two & help us honor a veteran! - GSNNB 11/09/24
The Girl Scouts have set a goal to help Elmwood get the rest of their wreaths:
Our 2024 goal is 200 wreaths! Thank you for helping us reach our goal.
After the Girl Scouts of NNB braved the rain to help place flags with Elmwood for Memorial Day in past years, Elmwood approached them with the idea to help out with Wreaths Across America (WAA). A small portion of every wreath donation (sponsorship) either goes to a local non-profit organization that is working an approved WAA cemetery, or it goes back up to Maine where WAA is headquartered. Elmwood is an approved WAA cemetery, but it is not a non-profit organization. The money from every wreath donated through Elmwood goes back up to the Maine headquarters. Elmwood asked the girls if they would like to become a sponsor group for them, and with that, a small portion of each wreath is kept local with the girls to be spread back through our local communities through their community givebacks and projects.
Please help us honor and remember as many fallen heroes as possible by sponsoring remembrance wreaths, volunteering on Wreaths Day, or inviting your family and friends to attend with you.
Thank you so much for supporting the Girl Scouts of New/North Brunswick and Wreaths Across America!
