Welcome to the Tahoma National Cemetery's Wreaths Across America Page.
On December 14, 2024 at 09:00 am (Wreath Placement Immediately Following Ceremony), Wreaths Across America will be at Tahoma National Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans through the laying of Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each and every veteran aloud.
Please help our location lay wreaths at as many graves as possible by clicking the red "Sponsor" button. Or, if you would like to volunteer to participate in the wreath laying ceremony, please click the “Volunteer” button next to the cemetery name below, and don't forget to click the "Invite" button to invite your friends and family to join you.

In Memory Of for James S. Harris, United States Military, Born 11/18/64, Passed On 12/29/22, Honored by Tahoma National Cemetery
James S. Harris, 'stood the watch', having served his country for 20 years, in the United States Navy as a Chief Engineer.James a dedicated and hardworking man. Even in times of great obstacles and the odds stacked against him, he didn't quit and pulled through. James was one of many Sailor stationed on the USS White Plains during the first Gulf War. On that ship he played a major role in combating the fire that took the engine room, where he was then tasked to repair the ships emergency diesel engine while ship remained in a war zone.He has achieved many awards and medals, including the Navy Achievement Medal. A Sailor through and through, he has shown Honor, Courage and Commitment while in service and his whole life.While at sea, he made sure to still be a loving, caring and supportive husband, father and son. And on his free time an avid fishermen and collector of rods and lures.He will be greatly missed and will forever remain with us in our hearts.

There is plenty of parking at this cemetery, so feel free to park in any available spot.Ceremony and Volunteer Information
We are happy that you are willing to help with our Wreath Across America ceremony at Tahoma National Cemetery. Please do not forget to register to volunteer! That way you will get all updates about the cemetery itself.
Here are some things to remember about the ceremony:
- Everyone of all ages and backgrounds is welcome.
- Please help ensure that all participants get the opportunity to place a wreath.
- Please follow the location coordinators instructions on where to place wreaths, as well as "how" they should be placed.
- We especially appreciate volunteers willing to help clean-up. Please check in with the location coordinator if you are interested in helping with the clean-up.
The most important thing to remember is to have a wonderful experience participating in the ceremony and thank you so much for help Wreaths achieve our mission to remember, honor and teach.
