Welcome to the Governor Jared Irwin Chapter National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (GA0379) Wreaths Across America Page. 

On Saturday, December 13 at 10:00 A.M., the Governor Jared Irwin Chapter National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (GA0379) will Remember and Honor the veterans in the Sandersville Old City Cemetery by laying Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our fallen heroes buried there. 

Many other locations in Washington County will Remember and Honor veterans with ceremonies as well on Saturday, December 13 and Sunday, December 14. These locations are Bethany Baptist Church, Bethlehem Baptist Church, Deepstep Methodist Church, Forest Grove Cemetery, Josey Baptist Church, Mineral Spring Baptist Church, Mount Gilead Primitive Baptist Church, Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, New Bethel Baptist Church, Piney Mount Methodist Church, Sisters Baptist Church, Smyrna Baptist Church, Tabernacle Methodist Church, Warthen Family Cemetery and Young Family Cemetery. Veterans will also be honored with wreaths being placed by family and friends at Brownwood Cemetery, Washington County Memorial Gardens, Zeta Cemetery and Warthen Methodist Church Cemetery.

Please help us Remember and Honor as many of our veterans in Washington County, veterans in our families, and veterans who were and are our friends by sponsoring remembrance wreaths and attending ceremonies on December 13 and 14.

MISSION BBQ Customers Donate $352,930 to Sponsor Veterans’ Wreaths for 2025

142 participating locations will receive veterans’ wreaths because of the generous donations in the communities where MISSION BBQ customers support the mission.

Parking is available behind the Methodist Church. Virginia Avenue will be closed to traffic.

Ceremony and Volunteer Information

We are happy that you are interested in helping with our Wreath Across America ceremony at Sandersville Old Cemetery on Saturday, December 13. Please click on the volunteer button on our Overview page to register. That way you will be able to get updated information. 

Here are some things to remember about our ceremony:

  • Everyone of all ages and backgrounds is welcome.
  • Please help ensure that all participants get the opportunity to place a wreath.
  • Please follow the location coordinators instructions on where to place wreaths, as well as "how" they should be placed.
  • We especially appreciate volunteers willing to help clean-up. Please check in with the location coordinator if you are interested in helping with the clean-up.

The most important thing to remember is to have a wonderful experience participating in the ceremony and thank you so much for your help to achieve our mission to Remember, Honor and Teach.
