Welcome to the Sarasota National Cemetery's Wreaths Across America Page. 

Wreaths Across America Day is on Saturday, December 13, 2025. 

Step 1.  Sponsor Your Veterans Wreaths now - without wreaths, we will not need volunteers!

Step 2 - Determine what time frame you wish to participate:

             A.  Wreath Placement - Family First - rotations will be in the morning hours for families who have a loved one interred at our cemetery. Carpooling is necessary. Vehicle Passes will be required. Please select the Volunteer button to request a vehicle pass for your rotation choice, then complete all information including the number of passengers in your vehicle. 

           B. Attend our Ceremony, then wreath laying - Vehicle Pass required, carpooling is mandatory. Arrival time is 11:30am. wreaths will be laid during this time. Laying of wreaths will begin at 1pm.

           C.  Volunteering only - Join in at 1pm with attendees of the ceremony and general volunteers to begin laying wreaths and saying the veterans names. No Vehicle Pass required, carpooling is mandatory.

Once above is determined: 

Step 3.  Register for a Vehicle Pass by selecting the Volunteer Button. 

Before registering for a vehicle pass, determine how many people will be riding with you, then select the Volunteer Button and choose the time rotation you and your group want to attend. Carpooling is required. 

Drivers are to register for a vehicle pass by selecting the “Volunteer” button. Complete all information including the number of passengers that you are bringing as volunteers.

Family First rotations in the morning, Ceremony at noon, Wreath Laying with all Volunteers will begin at 1pm, after the ceremony
January 03, 2026 at 08:00 AM, Dress for the weather, wear study shoes, bring garden gloves and a broom handle/pvc pipe/paint pole for carrying multiple wreaths. No garden carts, tarps/sheets or ropes please.

Directions to Cemetery

I 75 to Exit #205 (Clark Road/State Rd 72). East on SR 72 4.7 miles to the Main Cemetery Entrance.  You will need to show your VEHICLE PASS at check in.

Follow Local Law Enforcement, VA Police and Mission Army Staff instructions and signs for entering and exiting the cemetery.  ALL TRAFFIC is ONE WAY FLOW, exiting out the East (Maintenance) Entrance.  

Parking Instructions

There is limited parking available on cemetery grounds. Vehicle Passes are a mandatory requirement, All Drivers must register for a vehicle pass through the Volunteer Button. Do NOT register passengers for a vehicle pass. 

One Way Traffic only throughout the cemetery, entering at West End, exiting at East end. Absolutely no parking permitted in any grassy area.  Follow Law Enforcement and traffic attendants directions.

Ceremony and Volunteer Information

Carpooling required.  

All drivers must register for a vehicle pass. Do not register each passenger. Do provide the passenger count in the Vehicle Registration information section. Select the Volunteer button to register for a vehicle pass.

Sponsor your wreaths today! National Wreaths Across America Day is Saturday, December 13, 2025. Car Pooling is necessary. There is limited hard surface parking, therefore Vehicle Parking Passes are mandatory.  


When you register for a vehicle pass, you will be asked to provide the number of passengers in your vehicle.  Provide the number, not names. Only Drivers must request a Vehicle Pass for the timeframe they and their passengers wish to attend. Do not request a vehicle pass for Passengers. Select the Volunteer Button for information on all timeframes and how to register. No vehicle pass, no entry.

Schedule:
Family First - Morning rotations for families who have a loved one interred at Sarasota National Cemetery.
11:30 - Entry by Vehicle Pass for: Fundraising, Sponsorship Groups, Veteran Service Organizations. Carpooling Required and general public who wish to attend the ceremony.  No Wreaths will be laid at this time. Wreath laying will be at conclusion of the ceremony at 1pm.
12:00 - Ceremony
12:45 - Entry by Vehicle Pass for general volunteers.
1:00 - Say their Names, Lay their wreaths.
