On December 14, 2024 at 11:00 am, Midwest Honor Flight will be helping South Dakota Veterans Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans by laying Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes.
Please help us honor and remember as many fallen heroes as possible by sponsoring remembrance wreaths, volunteering on Wreaths Day, or inviting your family and friends to attend with you.

Directions from I-229 N:
- Keep left to continue on 476th Ave, follow signs for Minnehaha 125 Cnty
- Turn right onto Slip Up Creek Rd
- Follow the road until you see the South Dakota Veterans Cemetery on the left
Directions from I-90 W:
- Take exit 406 from I-90 W
- Turn right onto SD-11 N
- Turn left onto 258th St
- Turn left onto 477th Ave
- Follow the road until you see the South Dakota Veterans Cemetery on the right
Directions from I-90 E:
- Take exit 399 for South Dakota 115 N/Cliff Avenue toward Airport
- Use any lane to turn left onto 475th Ave/N Cliff Ave
- Turn right onto E 72nd St N
- Turn left onto 476th Ave
- Turn right onto Slip Up Creek Rd
- Follow the road until you see the South Dakota Veterans Cemetery on the left
Parking Instructions
Please follow the directions of the cemetery staff and the Patriot Guard to allow for the most parking at the cemetery. Vehicles with handicap plates or permits will be directed to designated spots near the committal shelter.Ceremony and Volunteer Information
We are happy that you are willing to help with our Wreath Across America ceremony at South Dakota Veterans Cemetery. Please do not forget to register to volunteer! That way you will get all updates about the cemetery itself.
Here are some things to remember about the ceremony:
- Everyone of all ages and backgrounds is welcome.
- Please help ensure that all participants get the opportunity to place a wreath.
- Please follow the location coordinators instructions on where to place wreaths, as well as "how" they should be placed.
- We especially appreciate volunteers willing to help clean-up. Please check in with the location coordinator if you are interested in helping with the clean-up.
The most important thing to remember is to have a wonderful experience participating in the ceremony and thank you so much for help Wreaths achieve our mission to remember, honor and teach.
