Peter Richard “Uncle Pete” Ashley, formerly of Pepperell, passed away on August 30, 2021 at Nashoba Valley Medical Center. He was 74. Mr. Ashley was born in Framingham on January 27, 1947 a son of the late Annabelle (Sullivan) and Rowland W. Ashley.
Peter is survived by his beloved wife of 14 years, Phyllis A. (Holleran) Ashley of Littleton. Devoted father of Bryan Ashley (Kirsty) of Leominster and Stephanie A. Cormier of Littleton. Proud grandfather of Brandon, Clara, and Grace Ashley. He was predeceased by his brother, Gerry Ashley.
Peter grew up in Pepperell where he attended the local schools and was a graduate of North Middlesex Regional High School. Peter worked his entire life as a truck driver. Peter was a 20 year member of the Pepperell Fire Department Hook & Ladder Company, attaining the rank of Captain, and was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran. An avid motorcyclist, Peter was a member of F-Troop Inc., and Fire & Iron Motorcycle Club Station #857, Winchendon, of which he served as Treasurer.

Directions to Cemetery
Navigation systems do an adequate job finding the cemetery. When you arrive, please follow the people and signs to the site of the ceremony itself. With the growth and success of our Wreaths across America Program at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon, come some inevitable changes. For the safety of volunteers and staff, there will be no parking available at the cemetery on Friday, December 13th. All volunteers are welcome and encouraged to park at the Winchendon Community Park located at 88 Ingleside Rd. in Winchendon or the American Legion Post 193 located at 295 School St, Winchendon. Shuttle buses will be available to transport volunteers to and from the cemetery. Handicap accessible transportation will be provided as well. Thank you for your support of this great program.

We are happy that you are willing to help with our Wreath Across America ceremony at Massachusetts Veteran' Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon. Please do not forget to register to volunteer! That way you will get all updates about the cemetery itself.
Here are some things to remember about the ceremony:
- Everyone of all ages and backgrounds is welcome.
- Please help ensure that all participants get the opportunity to place a wreath.
- Please follow the location coordinators instructions on where to place wreaths, as well as "how" they should be placed.
- We especially appreciate volunteers willing to help clean-up. Please check in with the location coordinator if you are interested in helping with the clean-up.
- WE WILL BE PLACING THE WREATHS REGARDLESS OF THE WEATHER ON DEC 13, 2024 AT 9AM
