<i class="material-icons" data-template="memories-icon">account_balance</i><br/>Billy Beller, Air Force<br/><div class='remember-wall-long-description'>Billy Beller joined the Air Force in 1965 after graduating from the Air Force Academy. He had planned to be a career officer and retire after 20 years or so. After completing his tour of duty in Vietnam, he and his family were stationed in Amsterdam, Holland for 2 years before coming back to the states. Billy loved to fly more than anything. His wife, Cynthia, always said that was the real love of his life. But we all knew his real loves were Cynthia and his two small children. While they were stationed in Tacoma, Wash., Billy suffered a massive coronary at the age of 31, leaving his family and friends devastated.</div><a class='btn btn-primary btn-sm mt-2 remember-wall-toggle-long-description' onclick='initRememberWallToggleLongDescriptionBtn(this)'>Learn more</a> Billy Beller, Air Force
<i class="material-icons" data-template="memories-icon">account_balance</i><br/>Wesley Brinkley, Air Force<br/><div class='remember-wall-long-description'>Wesley Benjamin Brinkley, Uncle Wes, enlisted in the Army on January 17, 1941, almost a year before the attack on Pearl Harbor. He served in the artillery for 7 months before joining the Army Air Corps. When he was commissioned as a 2nd Lt., he wrote home saying, “Am I happy!” He was waiting on his 1st Lt. Commission when he was killed in action. His last letter to his parents on Dec. 8th said how excited he was going to be to get that and it should be there any day now. He was shot down over Germany 5 days later on Dec. 13, 1943.</div><a class='btn btn-primary btn-sm mt-2 remember-wall-toggle-long-description' onclick='initRememberWallToggleLongDescriptionBtn(this)'>Learn more</a> Wesley Brinkley, Air Force

Brinkley, Jr., Uncle “Babe,” enlisted in the Army tank corps in February of 1941 and was shipped overseas in March of 1942. He volunteered for the brand new First Battalion of Darby’s Rangers in May of 1942. He participated in the raid on Dieppe in Aug of ’42, and also served in North Africa, Sicily and Italy. On November 13, 1943 he sustained abdominal wounds while on patrol in Venafro, Italy and died 6 days later on November 19, 1943 … less than one month before his brother, Wes, was shot down over Germany.</div><a class='btn btn-primary btn-sm mt-2 remember-wall-toggle-long-description' onclick='initRememberWallToggleLongDescriptionBtn(this)'>Learn more</a> William L. Brinkley, my Dad, joined the Army in Feb of 1941 – 10 months BEFORE Pearl Harbor! He later switched to the Army Air Corps, which became the Air Force in 1947. He was held back from service in WWII because his brothers were killed so close together, so he was kept here as a flight instructor. He later flew the A26 Invader, A20G Havoc, C46 Commando, C47 and the AT7 Beech in Korea.</div><a class='btn btn-primary btn-sm mt-2 remember-wall-toggle-long-description' onclick='initRememberWallToggleLongDescriptionBtn(this)'>Learn more</a> Jack Brinkley, Air Force
