For three long years, he served with courage against the Imperial Forces of Japan and later stood among the first American sailors to help secure peace on the Japanese mainland.He continued that devotion for two full decades, retiring in 1964 after a lifetime of service marked by honor, sacrifice, and unwavering loyalty to his country.Today, as we lay this wreath, we remember not just his uniform and his rank — but his bravery, his resilience, and the legacy he carried home to his family.
