The loveliest of human beings. You walked the walk of caring for others. You stood up for justice and didn't flinch. I'll never forget when you, at 80-something years old, mowed our lawn when Joel injured his back, and I was in a walking boot. Your boisterous baritone laugh and refusal of payment in any form other than baked goods warmed my heart. You were the example of being a good person that we should all strive to be. Thank you for your service and for being a light in this world. You are missed.

You were gruff as can be on the outside but had the heart of a teddy bear. I'll never forget your skill or kindness in making the custom toybox for our adopted son (even though you weren't feeling well) or your love for a good coconut cream pie. Thank you for your dedication to our country and for being a good person to my buddy Ralph.

From the moment we moved in next door, you never failed to tell me what you were thinking. The kindness shown to our son, the blowing of the leaves to our side of the yard, and the constant ribbing of my husband never ceased to make me laugh. He didn't know how to take it, but I know in my heart you were telling him you liked him as a neighbor. Thanks for making us laugh and for your service to our country.

A heart of gold and a friend to all. His antics had us in tears of laughter. A good cook who left too soon but he is finally at peace.

A soft-hearted man, who was warm and quick to laugh, instilling in others how to live life out loud. He was always up for adventure and loved those close to him deeply. He is missed every day!

A lifelong learner with a mischievous glint in his eyes. A kind smile, sharp wit, curiosity a mile wide and huge heart. We were all better for having you as part of our lives. You are missed.
