GVC is one of over 450 Chapters of MOAA in the USA. Two of our many missions at GVC, which encompasses the greater Rochester area, is to inculcate and stimulate love of our Country and of our flag; and to provide useful services for, and protect the interests of, ALL Service members and their dependents and survivors, and represent their rights and interests when military service matters are under consideration.

We care deeply for the service of all veterans and it is extremely important to us to ensure that their memories and sacrifices are preserved and that each and every veteran is NEVER forgotten. Visit us at www.gvcmoaa.org (http://www.gvcmoaa.org/) and consider joining us if you are eligible.

MOAA is our national organization. Its motto is "Never Stop Serving." MOAA is the nation's largest and most influential association of military officers. It is an independent, nonprofit, politically nonpartisan organization. In addition to representing all veterans’ interests before Congress, MOAA offers a wide range of personal and financial services exclusive to MOAA membership. Whatever the stage of your career, your MOAA membership delivers benefits geared specifically to you - and your family. From active-duty service through retirement, MOAA can help you make the most of your career as an officer. We are more than 390,000 strong in nationwide membership. We invite you visit http://www.moaa.org.

Please help our group raise funds by clicking one of the red "Donate" button above next the GVC name to sponsor wreaths to be placed at any of the veteran's cemeteries. (You may also designate us at ANY cemetery by entering our Group Code NY0118P.) It is easy! Your donation helps us support LOCAL veteran programs, such as Honor Flight Rochester, Veterans Outreach Center of Rochester, the VAMC in Canandaigua, and the Veterans Outpatient Clinic on Westfall Road.

With your help, we can continue to serve our fellow veterans of all ranks and services. Of particular importance to us is that we remember all veterans, with special honor for those who have passed. By serving as a Local Fund Raising Group, you help us continue our mission to REMEMBER our fallen veterans, HONOR all those who have served, and TEACH our children the value of freedom.

If you would like to volunteer to participate in the wreath laying ceremony, please click the “View” button next to the cemetery name below. It is especially valuable for your children and grandchildren to participate in wreath-laying. Their perspective and knowledge of the world around them will be greatly enhanced as they pay solemn tribute to the Heroes who answered the call to arms and ensured their freedom.

Thank you so much for supporting the NY0118P - Genesee Valley Chapter - Military Officers Association of America and Wreaths Across America!

In Memory Of for John Bryan, Jr., United States Military, Honored by NY State Veterans Cemetery - Finger Lakes (Formerly Sampson)

In honor of my late father and five uncles who all left Geneva, NY to serve during World War II in the Army, Navy, Marines and Army Air Force in the Caribbean, Europe and the Pacific. For my parents, they did not see or talk with each other between Dec. 1942 and Nov. 1945 while my dad served in an Army amphibious unit making landings in New Guinea and the Philippines and briefly occupying Yokohama, Japan. My mom knew only that it was unlikely he was in Europe since they loaded mosquito netting before shipping out from San Francisco.
