Ceremony and Volunteer Information

This year we find ourselves in unsettling times. Unfortunately because of our current governmental gathering limitations, our ceremony will be open ONLY to those who will be placing wreaths at the resting places of their family members.

We are asking anyone who has a family member(s) resting to sponsor a grave specific wreath and mark that you will or will not be present to place the wreath by using this link: https://tinyurl.com/yy4lkfro

You will be sent the most up to date "instructions" for arriving, seating for the ceremony and receiving the wreath for your placement.

This year, we are asking anyone who does not have a loved one resting at Miramar National Cemetery to register as a volunteer and await directions for placing wreaths after the ceremony conclusion. YOU WILL BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE. It will just be organized a little differently this year. Please sponsor wreaths by using this link www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/CA0452 or via your desired group.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work diligently to make sure every resting veteran at Miramar National Cemetery is Remembered on Wreath Day 2020. Please continue to check back often for updates to this information.

Here are some things to remember about the morning:

  • Everyone of all ages and backgrounds is welcome.
  • REMEMBER THAT MIRAMAR NATIONAL CEMETERY IS SACRED GROUND. Please behave in a manner that HONORS our heroes and their families.
  • Please help ensure that all participants get the opportunity to place a wreath.
  • Please follow the location coordinators instructions on where to place wreaths, as well as "how" they should be placed. (Tilted against the headstone with red ribbon on top.)
  • We especially appreciate volunteers willing to help clean-up. Please check in with the location coordinator if you are interested in helping with the clean-up.
