Faces of the Mission

For all the right reasons…

Amber Caron, Director of Communications

Many of the volunteers who have been participating in Wreaths Across America over the last nine plus years have likely spoken on the phone or corresponded with our new Director of Communications Amber Caron at some point.

From 2008 through February of 2018, Amber served as a public relations consultant for Wreaths Across America. Through her role as the Public Relations Director for a Maine-based advertising agency, she was able to lend media relations strategy and tactical support to the WAA team as the program grew. Over the years, Amber’s passion for the mission grew, too.

When offered the opportunity at the end of last season to join the team full time and focus solely on her work with Wreaths Across America, Amber jumped in with two feet and hasn’t looked back! Today, her role still includes media relations strategy and tactical support, but it has expanded to include all external and internal communications and marketing, including the development of monthly newsletters.

When asked what about what the mission means most to her, this is what she had to say: “Wreaths Across America is so much more than placing wreaths on graves. Bringing communities together across the country is what I’ve always loved about this program. People come together from different backgrounds and beliefs and for one day set aside their differences to fulfill the mission to Remember, Honor and Teach. It is difficult to put into words if you haven’t experienced it. It is such a simple act, placing a wreath, but it stays with you and the impact is life changing. It has changed my life—for the better.”
