Carolyn Guertin was one of the first individuals to sign up for the Civil Air Patrol when she was 11 years old. She was first in line but they preferred signing up a male first. She became a pilot and was active in her squad until she passed away at 90 years old.

Thanks, Dad, for your service to America during WW 2. You were but a kid but did what you had to do because you wanted to serve.

My grandfather was in France at the end of WWI when my mother was born. We will be eternally grateful that he was among those who returned from the war and was able to be part of my mother's life and ours.
