DUTY. HONOR. COURAGE.

This group has been created in loving memory of First Sergeant John A. Hanson—a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend—to carry forward his legacy of service by supporting Wreaths Across America at the California Central Coast Veterans Cemetery, where he now rests.

First Sergeant Hanson was a man defined by duty, honor, and courage. A U.S. Army Airborne Combat Engineer, a First Sergeant in the California Army National Guard, and a decorated veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, he dedicated his life to serving his country, community, and family.

To honor him and continue his legacy of service, our goal is to ensure that every Central Coast veteran receives a wreath and a moment of remembrance this year. Each wreath is more than a decoration—it is a symbol of gratitude, a reflection of love, and a promise that their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Each wreath is $17, and the California Central Coast Veterans Cemetery (CACACV) still needs over 300 more wreaths to honor every veteran this year. The deadline to donate is November 28, 2025

This year, National Wreaths Across America Day will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025. More than two million volunteers and supporters will gather at over 5,200 locations across the country and around the world. We will join in that effort locally, where wreaths will be placed immediately following the 12:00 pm ceremony at CACACV.

We humbly welcome your support in carrying forward First Sergeant Hanson’s legacy by any of the following:

  1. Sponsor a Wreath ($17 each) before November 28 to help us reach our goal.
  1. Register to Volunteer on December 13 to place wreaths and reflect on the service and sacrifice of our veterans.

From our family to yours, thank you for helping us honor First Sergeant John Hanson, the veterans of the Central Coast, and all who gave so much in service to our country.

With love,

Annette, Keely, Travis, & the Hanson Family
