Directions to Cemetery
Calverton National Cemetery is located at 210 Princeton Blvd., Calverton, NY 11933. The Main Entrance is located on Middle Country Road (Route 25). Volunteers that are picking up “Grave Specific” orders should enter here and proceed to Section 8. Signs will be posted along the way.
For ALL OTHER REGISTERED Volunteers Groups, the general Wreath Pick-up Location is the grass parking field next to the Main Assembly Area, near the end of Princeton Blvd. This is our staging area where volunteers are required to check in with Support Committee representatives there, take boxes of wreaths and proceed only to the sections inside the Cemetery that are designated for decoration this year. Assigned starting times for wreaths to be picked up will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue throughout the morning, ending with our brief ceremony at the Main Flagpole at 12 Noon.
The speed limit inside the Cemetery is 20 MPH; please watch your speed! Vehicles should park on the closest side to the section that is being decorated with wreaths. Do not park on both sides of the roadway; it is way too narrow for two-way traffic. Only Calverton Drive can accommodate two-way traffic AND parking on both sides of the roadway. Calverton National Cemetery is the largest national cemetery in the country, comprising over 1045 acres. It is not advisable that you walk from section to section or from a section to the Assembly Area.
If you are attending the Ceremony at 12 noon, please park in the field adjacent to the Assembly Area. Do NOT park, stand or stop in the Assembly Area circle!

Here are some things to remember about the event:
Everyone of all ages and backgrounds is welcome.
Please help ensure that all participants get the opportunity to place a wreath.
You agree to place the General Sponsored Wreaths at the designated sections selected by the Support Committee for Calverton National Cemetery. They are NOT for personal use.
"Personal Use" wreaths should be ordered as a "Grave Specific" wreath on the WAA website.
Please follow the location coordinators instructions on where to place wreaths, as well as "how" they should be placed. Those details will be emailed to every registered volunteer, organization, family, Scout Unit, etc.
There will be a brief ceremont at 12 Noon at the Main Flagpole in the Assembly Area.
We especially appreciate volunteers willing to help clean-up. Please check in with the location coordinator if you are interested in helping with the clean-up in January, 2024.
The most important thing to remember is to have a wonderful experience participating in the ceremony and thank you so much for help Wreaths achieve our mission to remember, honor and teach.
NYCNCC - Calverton National Cemetery
Welcome to Calverton National Cemetery and thank you deeply for helping us with our goal to honor as many veterans as possible on Wreaths Across America Day, Saturday, December 16, 2023. Please click "View" to learn more about our efforts. Please help us honor and remember as many fallen heroes as possible by sponsoring remembrance wreaths. You will be able to do a General Sponsor for one or several wreaths. To sponsor a wreath at Calverton, click on the “Sponsor Wreath” button on the HOME Page. It will take you to the official Wreaths Across America ordering information. Remember, when you sponsor, or donate, a wreath, it will be part of the general distribution amount that will be placed on 2 to 3 sections of the Cemetery as determined by the Calverton Support Committee. Those sections are rotated year to year so that every section “gets a turn”. In 2022, sections 17 and 30 were decorated. Different sections will be selected for 2023. The general supply of sponsored wreaths is then divided by the number of volunteers that sign up with us. In this manner, everyone volunteering to place a wreath will have an opportunity to do so. If you sponsor a large supply of wreath, please don’t expect to take that number at the wreath pick-up station. That will not leave enough for everyone to participate. You will pick up the same number of wreaths as everyone else.A General Sponsorship of a wreath is NOT for personal use. If you want to do that, then you must order a “Grave Specific” wreath on the WAA website. That wreath will have your name, or your laved one’s name, associatated with it when you pick it up at the “Grave Specific Wreath Pick-up” Station. Please be careful when you are ordering. We will not be able to give you a wreath at that station unless you specifically ordered it that way. When you order a "Grave Specific" wreath for a loved one's gravesite, you can pick up from us and place it yourself or, have one of our volunteers place it for you if you are out of the

Did you know that Wreaths Across America now offers recurring sponsorships? You can select the occurrence and cancel or pause anytime! Register now by completing this form! (https://tinyurl.com/n735zrbr)
What does it mean to sponsor a wreath? It means you are supporting a yearlong mission to Remember the fallen, Honor those who serve, and Teach the next generation the value of freedom. Your sponsorship will support the new and existing programs developed to share the mission. And, it will place a wreath to honor an American hero at one of more than 3,700 participating locations this year on National Wreaths Across America Day – a day set aside to lay gathers as Americans with the same goal.
We can’t do that without your support, though. Your sponsorship will ensure a hand-crafted wreath of all-American balsam and hand-tied with a red velvet bow here in Columbia Falls, Maine. It will then be sent to one of our participating locations, where a volunteer will place it on the marker of a hero. That volunteer will then “say their name” to ensure that the legacy of duty, service, and sacrifice is never forgotten.
So, what does it mean to sponsor a wreath? It means you have the opportunity to join a grateful nation in saying “thank you” to those who stepped up to serve.
*Please Note: Specific locations designated as "ceremonial-only" accept a limited number of sponsorships. Any additional sponsorships received beyond those used for the ceremony will be distributed to other locations.
