My dad was a proud combat Marine who served our country in the Vietnam War. He did not return to a hero's welcome but did proudly wear his marine corps memorabilia decades later when his service was acknowledged and celebrated. Unfortunately, his time in Vietnam ultimately cost him his life almost 50 years later from his chemical exposure but even before he passed he said he would do it all again...he was a true hero.
