Welcome to the In Memory of Barbara Hawkins Bradshaw's Wreaths Across America Page.
Barbara Anne Hawkins Bradshaw gained her heavenly wings on August 21,2024 after a lengthy illness. She was born on a cold snowy 4th of February, 1936 in Anderson County Hospital to parents Paul D. and Essie R. Hawkins of Williamston SC. She married the late Charlie Fletcher Bradshaw Jr. in 1954 and followed him through his navy postings and after with his career with Sikorsky Aircraft, Stradford CT, where she also worked and they loved to hear her sweet southern voice; They moved to Atlanta and finally to Cayce when he went to work for DOD.
She graduated in the first graduating class of Palmetto High School where she was the “Darling” of the class; cheerleader, basketball player and played the trombone in the band. Since their 25th class reunion she was the Ringleader of the Palmetto Golden Gang. Barbara was a multi-talented lady who excelled at wearing many hats. Barbara was a girl scout leader, church youth leader, handbell payer, interior designer, political campaign worker for many campaigns, First Executive Director of the SC Lupus Foundation, charter member of the Columbia Lioness Club, Eye Bank volunteer, and Nana to a host of foreign exchange students as well as local kids.
Barbara is survived by her children: Venetia Sharpe (John), Michael Bradshaw, Patrick Bradshaw (Lisa); Grand-children, Mallory S Hartgrove (Shawn), Stephen Bradshaw (Sarah-Laney), Sawyer Sharpe (Ryan), Christina Bradshaw; Great Grands Orion and Raiden Hartgrove. Sisters, Lucretia H Smith, Faye Carwile, numerous nieces and nephews; special friends Gloria and Clint Davis and Jody Hart. She was predeceased by Granddaughter Crystal Bradshaw, her parents, Husband Charlie and sister Victoria.
The family wishes to thank Drs John Gould and Rodney Harrison, the nurses, staff and Chaplain Michael Hillard of Amedisys Hospice for their loving care of Barbara and us the family.
Graveside services will be held at the MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery, 140 Inway Dr Anderson, SC Tuesday Sept 3rd at 2 PM
A Celebration of her life will be held at a date and place TBD.

Directions to Cemetery
We are located at 140 Inway Drive off of Belton Highway in Anderson, SC.
If you are coming from Greenville, SC:
Take I-85S and exit 34 to US-29
Stay straight on US-29 for 13.5 miles
Turn left on Amity Rd until you reach Belton Highway/US-178
Turn Right on Belton Highway/US-178
Turn Right on Inway Drive
The cemetery will be on your right hand side
If you are coming from Anderson, SC:
Take W River St/US-76 E/US-178 E toward S Main St/SC-28 Business and continue to follow US-76E/US-178E
Turn Left on Inway Dr
The cemetery will be on your right hand side
Parking Instructions
There is parking available inside and outside the cemetery. We will have volunteers assisting with parking throughout the cemetery. Please be sure to follow their instructions to help the flow of traffic.
Also, parking will be available on Inway Drive for overflow parking.
Ceremony and Volunteer Information
We are happy that you are willing to help with our Wreath Across America ceremony at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
We are committed to ensuring the safety of our community and are not holding a Wreaths Across America ceremony at our location this year.
All sponsored veteran wreaths will be held until next year and placed at the wreath day event in 2021. Please help us reach our goal of fully covering our cemetery next year by sponsoring a wreath TODAY for placement in 2021!
