Welcome to the Oregon Coast Veterans Association's Wreaths Across America Page.
at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, December 19, 2026, National Wreaths Across America Day, the Oregon Coast Veterans Association will be helping Eureka Cemetery in Newport, Remember and Honor our veterans by laying Remembrance Wreaths on the graves of our local heroes and speaking that veteran's name out loud, so they are not forgotten. The ceremony is open to all, and dozens of local and visiting volunteers attend to participate in the wreath laying ceremonies, which will conclude with the playing of Taps. Bugler, and retired Navy Chief Steve Schaljo, Vancouver, WA, has been invited again this year to honor our veterans at rest in Eureka Cemetery.
YOU ARE INVITED...to help us honor and remember our veterans by sponsoring remembrance wreaths, volunteering on National Wreath Day, and inviting your family and friends to attend our ceremony.

Directions to Cemetery
Navigation systems do an adequate job finding the cemetery. When you arrive, please follow the people and signs to the site of the ceremony itself.
Parking Instructions
There is plenty of parking at this cemetery, so feel free to park in any available spot. Volunteers will be available to assist in finding parking.Ceremony and Volunteer Information
We are happy that you are willing to help with our Wreath Across America ceremony at Eureka Cemetery. Please do not forget to register to volunteer! That way you will get all updates about the cemetery itself.
Here are some things to remember about the ceremony:
- Everyone of all ages and backgrounds is welcome.
- Please help ensure that all participants get the opportunity to place a wreath.
- Please follow the location coordinators instructions on where to place wreaths, as well as "how" they should be placed.
- The ceremony will be held regardless of weather.
- The ceremony will begin at 10:00 am, and will conclude with "Taps" after the final wreaths are placed.
- We especially appreciate volunteers willing to help clean-up. Please check in with the location coordinator if you are interested in helping with the clean-up.
The most important thing to remember is to have a wonderful experience participating in the ceremony and thank you so much for helping Wreaths Across America, and Eureka Cemetery achieve our mission to remember, honor and teach.
