Welcome to the Young Family Cemetery's Wreaths Across America Page. 

On December 14th, 2025 at 1:30 Wreaths Across America will be at Young Family Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans through the laying of Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each and every veteran aloud.

Please help our location lay wreaths at as many graves as possible by clicking the red "Sponsor" button.

MISSION BBQ Customers Donate $352,930 to Sponsor Veterans’ Wreaths for 2025

142 participating locations will receive veterans’ wreaths because of the generous donations in the communities where MISSION BBQ customers support the mission.

On Sunday, March 16, 2025, Wreaths Across America remembers the 63nd anniversary of the Disappearance of Flying Tiger Line Flight 739. Join us for a special event at 2 p.m. on our official Facebook page and over Wreaths Across America Radio.

Memory for Eli Smith, Honored by Young's Family Cemetery

Eli Smith - Private - Co. K, 5th GA Reserves - Confederate States of America - 1821 - March 18, 1865 - Eli Smith enlisted in Macon in 1863-1864. (Pension affidavit by his wife, Mary Smith, says he enlisted September 1863.) He was sent home on February 12, 1865, with measles and typhoid dysentery in helpless condition dying a month later, March 18, 1865. His company carried his name on their roll until surrender in December 1865. He was the son of George Smith and Lavenia Phillips and husband of Mary Ann Smith Smith, who was the daughter of John Smith and Catherine Young. He was also the grandson of Colby Smith - Young Family Cemetery, Tennille, GA

Notes: Young's Burying Ground

Drive 8 miles south of Tennille, Washinton County, GA to the Patriot's Memorial Marker on right. Travel 200 yards on GA 15 to driveway on left at the top of the hill. Turn in drive and before going into gate make a sharp turn to the left for twenty feet and then make a sharp turn to the right. Drive between fence on the right and planted field on your left for 50 yards. Enter Young's Burying Ground or Cemetery that is full of huge trees. With the fence on your right, follow it for about 20 yards and you will see the tombstones of Colesby and Anna Henry Smith on your left.

There is plenty of parking at this cemetery, so feel free to park in any available spot.

Ceremony and Volunteer Information

We are happy that you are willing to help with our Wreath Across America ceremony at Young Family Cemetery. Please do not forget to register to volunteer! That way you will get all updates about the cemetery itself.

Here are some things to remember about the ceremony:

  • Everyone of all ages and backgrounds is welcome.
  • Please help ensure that all participants get the opportunity to place a wreath.
  • Please follow the location coordinators instructions on where to place wreaths, as well as "how" they should be placed.
  • We especially appreciate volunteers willing to help clean-up. Please check in with the location coordinator if you are interested in helping with the clean-up.

The most important thing to remember is to have a wonderful experience participating in the ceremony and thank you so much for help Wreaths achieve our mission to remember, honor and teach.
