REMEMBER the Fallen. . . HONOR those who Serve. . . TEACH our children the value of Freedom and how to live with purpose.

Welcome to the CA0797 - Bakersfield Republican Women, Federated Wreaths Across America Page.

On Saturday, December 14th at 09:00 am, please join us for a brief ceremonial program at the upper assembly area at the Bakersfield National Cemetery.  After the program, around 9:45 am, the public will assist Wreaths Across America in Remembering and Honoring our veterans by laying Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each veteran aloud.

Please help us honor and remember as many fallen heroes as possible at the Bakersfield National Cemetery by clicking the red "Sponsor" button located on this page.  Or, if you would like to volunteer to participate in the wreath laying ceremony, click on the "Volunteer" button located on this page.  Don't forget to click the "Invite" button on this page to invite your family and friends to join you.

If you sponsored a 'Grave Specific' wreath and you will be placing the wreath at your loved one's grave, we're asking you to do this between 7:30 am - 8:45 am, on December 14th.  We will have a 'Grave Specific' informational table near the cemetery Administration Office.

Thank you so much for supporting the CA0797 - Bakersfield Republican Women, Federated and Wreaths Across America!

Ceremony and Volunteer Information

We are happy that you are willing to help with our Wreath Across America ceremony at Bakersfield National Cemetery (BNC). This year's theme is to 'Live with Purpose' and please do not forget to register to volunteer! That way you will get all updates about the cemetery itself.

Here are some things to remember about the ceremony:

  • Everyone of all ages and backgrounds is welcome.
  • Join us for a brief ceremony at 09:00 am at the Upper Assembly Area; transportation will be provided.
  • At 9:45 am, volunteers may commence laying wreaths.  Please help ensure that all participants get the opportunity to place a wreath.
  • Family and friends of veterans who sponsored 'grave-specific' wreaths will check in at the BNC's Public Information Center and will be the only participants allowed to lay a wreath between 7:30 am - 8:45 am.
  • Please follow the location coordinators instructions on where to place wreaths, as well as "how" they should be placed.
  • We especially appreciate volunteers willing to help clean-up. Our wreath 'Clean-Up Day' is scheduled for Saturday, January 11th at 9:00 am.  Please check in with the location coordinator if you are interested in helping with the clean-up.

The most important thing to remember is to have a wonderful experience participating in the ceremony. Thank you so much for your help in achieving our mission to remember, honor and teach the next generation about what it means to serve and live with purpose.
