He worked tirelessly to ensure currently serving military, Veterans, and their families were cared for. His service to our country and his service to our community has not gone unnoticed. He is a true hero. Dick was an honorary life member of the American Legion Burton Woolery Post 18 where he served as the Commander from 2010-2016 and 2017-2021. His most notable honors for Post 18 include the Legionnaire of the Year Award, past Trustee member, serving on the American Legion District 7 Executive Board, and Oratorical Chairman for the District. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 18 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 604 honoring his father’s service.
