Welcome to the OH0296P - Civil Air Patrol, GLR-OH-145, Lt Col JP Ashman Composite Squadron's Wreaths Across America Page. 

On December 14, 2024 at 12:00 pm (Wreath Placement Following 12 PM Ceremony at Maineville Cemetery, Approx 1:45 PM), OH0296P - Civil Air Patrol, GLR-OH-145, Lt Col JP Ashman Composite Squadron will be helping Maineville Cemetery, Murdock Cemetery, Hopkinsville Cemetery, and Baker Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans by laying Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes.

Please note, our ceremony will be held at Maineville Cemetery located at 476 E Foster Maineville Rd Maineville, OH, 45039 beginning at 12:00 PM, with wreath placement to follow at Maineville, Murdock, Hopkinsville and Baker Cemeteries.

Please help us honor and remember as many fallen heroes as possible by sponsoring remembrance wreaths, volunteering on Wreaths Day, or inviting your family and friends to attend with you.

A Tribute

ALVIN BAINS entered the US Army from Brooklyn, New York, two weeks after Pearl Harbor. After training as a Paratrooper he was assigned to Regimental Headquarters Company, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. He served in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, England, Holland and Belgium. ?ALVIN ?at age 21, was Killed in Action on 21 December, 1944 near Cheneux, Belgium. ALVIN had been wounded two times prior to the fateful day in Belgium. He rests in peace at the American Monuments Battlefield Commission Cemetery Henri-Chapelle, Belgium.

Navigation systems do an adequate job finding the cemetery. Please park along the cemetery drive where other cars can still get past you to depart.

Parking Instructions

Parking is along the cemetery drive.  Please park along the drive to allow for other cars to exit.

Ceremony and Volunteer Information

Please note, our ceremony will be held at Maineville Cemetery located at 476 E Foster Maineville Rd Maineville, OH, 45039 starting at 12 Noon with wreath placement to follow at Maineville, Murdock, and Hopkinsville Cemeteries.

We are happy that you are willing to help with our Wreath Across America ceremony at Hopkinsville Cemetery. Please do not forget to register to volunteer! That way you will get all updates about the cemetery itself.

Here are some things to remember about the ceremony:

  • Everyone of all ages and backgrounds is welcome.
  • Please help ensure that all participants get the opportunity to place a wreath.
  • Please follow the location coordinators instructions on where to place wreaths, as well as "how" they should be placed.
  • We especially appreciate volunteers willing to help clean-up. Please check in with the location coordinator if you are interested in helping with the clean-up.

The most important thing to remember is to have a wonderful experience participating in the ceremony and thank you so much for help Wreaths achieve our mission to remember, honor and teach.
