MY MOTHER WAS IN THE US NAVY AND MY FATHER WAS IN THE US MARINE CORPS. THEY WERE BOTH FROM PENNSYLVANIA, BUT FIRST MET WHILE ON ACTIVE AT CAMP PENDLETON. THEY WERE MARRIED FOR NEARLY 66 YEARS. EACH ALWAYS SAID THE OTHER WAS THE LOVE OF THEIR LIFE. THEY HAD A WONDERFUL AND LOVING MARRIAGE TO THE END. THEY ARE SIDE BY SIDE FOR ETERNITY. THEY WERE THE FOUNDATION OF THE FAMILY. THEY WERE BOTH SO PROUD OF THEIR SERVICE TO THEIR COUNTRY. MY FATHER SERVED OVER 27 YEARS. HE ALWAYS SAID, HE WOULD KNOCK ON THE PEARLY GATES ONE DAY AND TELL ST PETER, “US MARINE REPORTING FOR DUTY, SIR!
