Welcome to the US Soldiers' & Airmen's Home National Cemetery's Wreaths Across America Page.
The US Soldiers' and Airmen's Home National Cemetery is our first national cemetery. It was established in July 1861, for the burial of U.S. soldiers and officers. The first burials in this cemetery were made on August third, 1861. The cemetery is currently nearly 16 acres in size and is the resting place for 21 Medal of Honor recipients. Currently, 14,000 veterans are buried here.
We will be holding our ceremony at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, December 14, 2024 (Wreath Placement Immediately Following Ceremony) with wreath placement to follow immediately after at approx 12:30 PM. When you place the wreath please have the bow at the top, read the veteran's name aloud, and take a moment to reflect. For those volunteers who may want to help unload the wreaths from the trucks, we invite you to join us at 10:30 AM to help unload them, but please note, wreaths will not be placed until after the ceremony.
Thank you to all those involved in working together to reach our goal. These wreaths symbolize a commitment to Remember and Honor our nation’s veterans through the laying of wreaths on the graves of our country’s fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each veteran aloud.
Please help our location lay wreaths at as many graves as possible by clicking the red "Sponsor" button.
