We are happy that you are willing to help with our Wreath Across America event at Tahoma National Cemetery. Please do not forget to register for a time slot to volunteer!
This year, the National Wreaths Across America Day event for our location will be shared virtually on Saturday, December 19th, 2020. We are making necessary modifications to our event plans and laying of veteran wreaths to ensure the safety of all who attend and participate. Information about how to view our virtual event will be shared soon.
All sponsored veteran wreaths in 2020 will be placed throughout the day on Wednesday, December 16th, Thursday, December 17th, and Friday, December 18th, by volunteers. To join us in laying veteran wreaths, please sign up for a specific time slot by clicking the red Volunteer button. You will then show your email confirmation as ticket for entry to the wreath laying event. Masks and gloves are required while on cemetery grounds, as well as social distancing. If you have special requests, please contact the Assistant Cemetery Director at jennifer.dehorty@va.gov to make those arrangements.
Here are some things to remember about the event:
- Everyone of all ages and backgrounds is welcome.
- Please help ensure that all participants get the opportunity to place a wreath.
- Please follow the location coordinators instructions on where to place wreaths, as well as "how" they should be placed.
- We especially appreciate volunteers willing to help clean-up. Please check in with the location coordinator if you are interested in helping with the clean-up.
The most important thing to remember is to have a wonderful experience participating in the event and thank you so much for help Wreaths achieve our mission to remember, honor and teach.
