FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Wreaths Across America Partners with International Association of Movers

International Association of Movers

ORLANDO – Oct. 14, 2021 – Today, national nonprofit Wreaths Across America (WAA) is proud to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the International Association of Movers (IAM), the moving and forwarding industry's largest global trade association.

Members of IAM provide moving and relocation services for members of the military and their families and have long supported the WAA mission through the hauling of veterans' wreaths across the country. IAM is the moving and forwarding industry's largest global trade association. With more than 2,000 members, it comprises companies that provide moving, forwarding, shipping, logistics, and related services in more than 170 countries. Since 1962, IAM has been promoting the growth and success of its members by offering programs, resources, membership protections, and unparalleled networking opportunities to enhance their businesses and their brands.

The signed MOU between the two groups outlines five key agreements. These include setting a cadence of regular meetings to share opportunities and develop tools to support each other's initiatives, encouraging IAM member involvement in helping to move the mission, and WAA will share the stories of members giving back in their communities.

"The partnership with International Association of Movers aligns perfectly with our mission to Remember, Honor, Teach," said Don Queeney, Director of Transportation, Wreaths Across America. "Relocating active service members, those separating and as well as retirees is a source of pride for them. And to help Wreaths Across America MOVE THE MISSION is a way to pay back and pay it forward to these courageous men and women of our armed services."

"This partnership is a perfect fit for IAM members, our domestic asset-based movers, as well as our international partners can offer an awful lot to help move the mission of Wreaths Across America," said Charles "Chuck" White, President, International Association of Movers. "My father is buried at Quantico National Cemetery, where I have participated in the Wreaths Across America program for many years. The impact and the importance of this mission resonates with so many, and it is something I am proud to support."

This year, National Wreaths Across America Day will take place on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at over 2,700 participating locations nationwide.
