We are so happy that you are willing to help with our Wreath’s across America event at Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton, PA. Please do not forget to register to volunteer! Being registered will help to ensure you get all updates about the event.
Here are some things to know about the ceremony:
- People of all ages and backgrounds are welcome!
- While we know there are many areas within Cathedral Cemetery that our veterans are resting, we choose to hold our ceremony and begin placement of wreaths in Section 9, “The Bivouac of the Dead”. This location is easy to locate, and easily accessible by most. Ensuring this location is our starting point yearly allows us to accommodate to the best of our abilities to volunteers who may have physical limitations; more so than other areas further into the cemetery. All of this allows us to make sure we are as inclusive as possible for everyone within our community to join in and be a part of our mission!
- Please help ensure that all participants get the opportunity to place at least one wreath.
- Please follow the location coordinator's instructions on where to place wreaths, as well as "how" they should be placed.
- The most important thing to remember is to have a wonderful experience participating in the ceremony and thank you so much for helping Wreaths Across America achieve our mission to remember, honor, and teach.
