Here are some things to remember about the ceremony and wreath-laying:
- Everyone of all ages and backgrounds is welcome.
- The ceremony will take place rain or shine.
- After the ceremony, please look for the wreath staging area and the "Grave Specific" table behind the ceremony site where you can pick-up your sponsored wreath(s) that you will lay on your loved one's grave in the cemetery.
- If you are picking up a wreath(s) to be placed in another cemetery, please proceed to the "Pick-Up" table in the wreath staging area for your wreath(s).
- If you are volunteering to lay wreaths in Mendenhall Cemetery, please report to the "Volunteer" table and wait for a section assignment, grave list, and wreaths from a location coordinator.
- Please wear gloves to protect your hands from branches and sap that may be on wreaths.
- Please follow the location coordinator's instructions on where to place wreaths on graves, as well as "how" they should be placed.
- We especially appreciate volunteers willing to help clean-up after the event. Please check in with the location coordinator if you are interested in helping with the clean-up.
- Your photos of the event and wreath-laying are encouraged and appreciated. Please feel free to post on the cemetery's Facebook page, "Mendenhall Cemetery". Please remember to put the names of family members/volunteers in your photo captions.
